Providing clinical, research and education services, CDDH is uniquely positioned to research the factors important to the healthcare needs of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

CDDH’s research objectives:

  1. Wherever possible, research is guided in partnership with individuals with intellectual and developmental disability, their families, and carers,
  2. Enhancing healthcare provider capacity to meet the healthcare requirements of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities,
  3. Improving healthcare access for people with disability, with a focus on those with intellectual and developmental disability,
  4. Evaluating the efficacy, safety, and broader health impacts of the Centre’s clinical programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and
  5. Fostering a culture of research and evidence-based practice within CDDH.

 

Current research projects:

  • An external project member on the MRFF funded ‘Listen to Me‘ project at Macquarie University.
